Far North Region Scouts

part of The Scout Association of Australia, Queensland Branch.

 

Providing scouting in the region for over 100 years.

 

Our Scout region extends north from Tully and Ravenshoe,
including the Tablelands and coastal towns through to
the tip of Queensland and currently supports 13 scout groups,
around 500 youth members and over 160 adult leaders and
supporting members.

Dick Smith was a Scout for 14 years. He earned the Baden-Powell Award in 1966, and attributes much of his success in life to the lessons he learnt in Scouting.

Shane Jacobson is a former Scout but recently appointed Chief Scout of Victoria and the lead actor in the famous Australian comedy movie Kenny. The character of Kenny runs a porta-loo business and is described as “A lovable guy in a not so lovable job”.
